Welcome to Bickerley Counselling

Glenys Bellman
I am dedicated to helping people to talk about their troubles and anxieties, in order to find a way through them by gaining new insights and a clearer perspective. Over the years I have worked with many adults and young people to help them regain their confidence, and self-esteem, in order to live their lives in a happier, more effective way.
I have helped clients with a range of issues including: depression and anxiety; Obsessive Compulsive Disorder; physical and emotional abuse; bereavement and various other forms of loss; eating disorders; anger-management; disability and life-limiting conditions; relationship and identity difficulties.
Counselling sessions will help you to think about what is making you unhappy. You will also have an opportunity to uncover unconscious thoughts which may be rooted in your past, and which may be affecting the way you deal with problems now. New insights gained will help you to understand yourself and how you deal with significant problems and relationships. I aim to work creatively with clients using Psychodynamic theory as a basis for the work, but drawing on other training and skills, as appropriate, to enhance my clients experience.
I offer short-term counselling for specific problems, or longer term open-ended counselling if you would like to work at a deeper level. Sessions will be for 50 minutes at a regular, mutually agreed time each week.

My training and qualifications are as follows: Membership of Professional Bodies:
  • BACP Accreditation
